Brooke Topalof, MA, LMFT is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has worked for over
ten years as a therapist in a variety of settings including private practice, public schools, church settings, home-based
counseling programs and managed-care services. She has extensive experience working with couples and families in conflict
as well as individuals overcoming issues related to depression and anxiety. Brooke is certified as an Intrinsic Life
Coach and a Minnesota Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is also certified to administer the PREPARE/Enrich assessment.
When working with couples, Brooke begins by assessing their emotional, physical
and spiritual health. She will explore family of origin influences, the impact of personality traits, core values and
personal goals. Testing may be administered to better understand role relationships, level of functioning and readiness to
change. Couples can expect to learn strategies to communicate more effectively, eliminate unhealthy patterns of relating,
and improve their emotional and physical intimacy. When children are involved, couples will learn to parent with greater ease
and cooperation. Sometimes it is necessary for couples to separate and Brooke will help make this a collaborative effort.
Recognizing that each
client brings unique life experiences to therapy along with intuitive but untapped solutions within themselves, Brooke helps
clients clarify what is truly most important to them. Through self-evaluation and goal setting, she coaches clients
to identify their inner resourcefulness and to live more confidently and happily. The duration of therapy will depend
on the goals identified and on sufficient time for guided practice of the strategies determined necessary to achieve success.
